The Learning Brain

There has been an explosion of data from neuroscience in recent years but what can science tell us about learning and will neuroscience eventually transform educational practice? In this lecture, we will consider important issues including how biological factors may account for differences in learning ability, the relative influences of nature and nurture on the learning brain, and the neuroplastic mechanisms underpinning learning across the lifespan. We will conclude by addressing some of the challenges facing educational neuroscience.
